Chasing adventures and races around the globe.

Cory grew up in the small town of Jasper Alberta in the Canadian Rockies. He spent his youth playing hockey and exploring the surrounding mountains with his bike and running shoes. Focused on his ice hockey aspirations he found out that riding bikes was one of the best ways to stay fit in the summer months. Biking became his passion and from his early twenties he was able to turn this into a career, signing with the Kona Factory race team in 2010. His other passion is to travel and explore the far off reaches of the World. The bike is the perfect tool for this job and it has led into a decade of adventures, visiting all the continents except Antarctica.

For the past 11 years Cory has been chasing adventures and races around the globe. His training routines often find him exploring new countries in warmer climates then Canada as he builds up the season fitness. For 4 years he explored Central America, then 3 years in Australia/New Zealand, and most recently South East Asia, mostly in Nepal and India. Over the years Cory has become one of the most experienced Marathon mountain bike racers on the globe. Likely racing and training in more different countries than anyone else in this discipline. He has had success this way, most recently with 3 straight 24HR World Championships titles from 2017-2019 (Italy, Scotland Brazil).

He's also raced shorter disciplines and competed at the XCO World Championships, Marathon World Championships as well as stage races in over 20 different countries. This has been highlighted by winning the Canadian Marathon title twice, the Mongolia bike Challenge 3 times, and the BC Bike Race once.
Outside of racing Cory has also taken on some FKT's and has held the record on the 230 km Annapurna Circuit in Nepal for 3 years now, each year getting faster with his last time of 20 hours and 33 minutes setting the bar. He was also the first ever cyclist to do an Everesting in Nepal, doing it 70 km from the mountain itself in the Solukhumbu region while he was living in a Monastery, waiting out the Covid 19 Pandemic this past year. Through all this time in the Himalayas Cory has taken a keen interest in high altitude training , testing and experimenting with living and training in elevations from sea level to 5000 meters.

More FKT attempts and multi day expeditions look to be in Cory's future as he continues to push the boundaries of what is possible on a Mountain bike.

Cory is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and experiences as he dives into the coaching realm. He's also a certified Sports Nutritionalist, always researching and experimenting with different foods and supplements to find the best fuel for elite endurance athletes. Toss in his travel history, and theirs a wealth of information to share as he continues to learn and develop as an athlete and coach!
